A study of 85 students looked at the effects of Ginkgo Biloba on PMS symptoms.
According to the results, Ginkgo Biloba supplementation reduced PMS symptoms by 23%.

Another review of 21 studies found that Ginkgo Biloba may help improve mental function in Alzhemier’s patients.
Ginkgo Biloba may help reduce anxiety
Wanna know a shocking statistic?
Around 40 million US adults suffer from anxiety.
Interestingly, Ginkgo Biloba may help relieve anxiety symptoms.
In one study, 107 people with anxiety took either 240mg of Ginkgo Biloba, 480mg of Ginkgo Biloba, or a placebo.
The subjects who took 480mg of Ginkgo Biloba had a 45% bigger reduction in anxiety symptoms than the placebo group.
Benefits of L-Theanine
L-Theanine may help improve sleep
Out of all the aspects of a healthy lifestyle, sleep is arguably the most underappreciated one.
So over the last 12 months, I’ve tried a handful of supplements to help improve my sleep, including:
- Holy Basil
- Phosphatidylserine (PS)
- California Poppy Extract
I had the best sleep when taking either Holy Basil alongside PS or L-Theanine on its own.
(California Poppy Extract was disappointing to say the least.)

- People taking antidepressants

L-Theanine Side Effects
Like Ginkgo Biloba, L-Theanine is generally safe to supplement with.
But those who drink a lot of tea to get their L-Theanine may notice the following side effects:
- Stomach upset
These effects are believed to be caused by the caffeine in the tea, rather than L-Theanine.
