For example, one study of 30 people looked at how taking 200mg of daily Ginseng affected their cognitive function.
After only 4 weeks, the subjects showed improvements in mood, mental health, and social functioning.
Another study showed that taking 400mg of daily Ginseng improved math skill and calmness after just 8 days.
Ginseng may help improve ED
Erectile dysfunction (ED) can be hard to treat (no pun intended…), as it often has various causes, including:
- Low levels of nitric oxide
- Oxidative stress in the blood vessels of the penis
So with that in mind, you’d think Ginseng would be helpful for treating ED, right?
Well, one study found that Ginseng was 2x more effective than an actual ED drug!
Ginseng may help strengthen the immune system
One of the biggest complications of Cancer treatment is a weakened immune system.

For example, a study looked at Ginseng’s effects on immune system markers in Cancer patients undergoing Chemotherapy.
The results showed that the Ginseng users had better immune system markers that the other patients.
Ginseng may help reduce inflammation
Inflammation can be your friend or foe.
Acute inflammation usually happens after an injury, so for example if you bruise your arm.
This type of inflammation tells your body that something’s wrong, and so helps speed up the healing process.
On the other hand, chronic inflammation accumulates slowly over time and is often the result of living an unhealthy lifestyle.
It’s this type of inflammation you want to avoid like the plague, as it’s been linked to many serious diseases, including:
- Heart disease
- Alzheimer’s disease
So, to minimize your risk of these nasty illnesses, you want to lower chronic inflammation as much as possible.
And this is where Ginseng proves to be useful.
Research has shown that it helps regulate TNF-alpha, which is a molecule that plays a key role in inflammation.

Caffeine may boost exercise performance
According to research, caffeine may boost exercise performance.
For example, one study showed that 5mg of Caffeine per kg of body weight improved endurance by around 5% when taken an hour before exercise.
Another study found that caffeine reduced perceived exertion by 5.6% which may make your workouts feel easier.
Caffeine may help with weight loss
Many fat burners and weight loss supplements include caffeine in their ingredients.
And for good reason too.
One study found that a dose of 300mg of daily Caffeine will increase energy expenditure by 79 calories per day.
Another study of 8 young men found that 10mg of Caffeine per kg of body weight increased fat burning by 13%.
Caffeine may help prevent Diabetes
Type 2 Diabetes is a disease characterized by high-blood sugar levels.
It can cause some horrific symptoms, including:

- Excessive thirst
- Numb hands and feet

For example, a review of 6 studies found that those who consume the most Caffeine have up to a 30% lower risk of developing Diabetes.
Caffeine may improve mood and cognitive function

For example, one study found that caffeine enhanced attention, awareness, and reaction time, when compared to a placebo.
Also, a review of 12 studies found that caffeine consumers have a 16% lower risk of depression.

Ginseng Side Effects
Most people who supplement with Ginseng experience very few adverse effects.
But in some instances, the following side effects have been reported:
- Rapid heartbeat
- Blood pressure fluctuations
Women may experience addition side effects like vaginal bleeding and breast tenderness.
Also, you should consult a doctor before taking Ginseng if you’re taking any other medications, as it may interact poorly with other drugs.
Caffeine Side Effects
Like Ginseng, Caffeine is well tolerated by most healthy adults.
But some people may experience the following side effects:
